Sydney Fitness Fat Loss Training Guide
One of the most common questions I get asked professionally as a personal trainer is:
“What is the best way to lose body fat ?”
Well the answer to that question is pretty simple.. It really is just a matter of eating the right diet and doing the right training.
But what is the right diet and what is the right training?
The right diet in my opinion is one that is within your daily caloric allowance and consists of unprocessed natural whole foods.
These days a lot of self proclaimed experts are preaching the NHI (no human interference) diet concept.
Such an approach does not take into consideration the daily energy requirements of an individual. While the NHI concept is sound it must be combined with a traditional approach to weight loss in order function at its potential capacity.
Using a tool such as that available at calorieking.com.au to calculate your daily energy requirements and check the caloric value of foods is essential for an individual to be able to know exactly how many energy they are consuming.
What is the best training to lose body fat?
The best way to lose body fat % is to train consistently.
These days I hear all these people with a barrow to push saying “you have to do intervals” and “ you have to do whole body exercises”.
These methods work, but so do many others.
Intervals are with out a doubt an awesome way to lose body fat % but they are intense and when you are adhering to a training plan 6 days a week it is hard to keep intensity in every session.
So many internet trainers preach this crap like it is gospel…but get into the gyms and ask the guy who looks the part and he is going to tell you one thing…..consistency is the key. Period.
In other words its better to do any program consistently than to do the best program in the world sporadically.
A simple outline of a program I may design for someone who is looking to lose body fat may look something like this:
3 days of weight training ( legs day, chest day, back day)
2 days of intervals ( boxing, kickboxing, cycle class, sprints, running)
1 day full body circuit training. (kettlebell, bodyweight, ply metrics)
