What is bootcamp?
Originallythe term "bootcamp training" was a program of physical/mental and battle preparedness undertaken
exclusively by the US Marine Corps.
Nowadays, "fitness bootcamp" refers to a form of basic training offered by fitness providers throughout the
world.
Oz bootcamp (pyrmont) is an outdoor group fitness training program that was designed by Nathan as an
alternative to the militant type fitness bootcamp propagating around Sydney.

NPM Fitness wants to deliver real results without any gimmicks. Simple.
NPM Fitness likes to make a distinction - that regular civilians do not, and in fact probably should
not be trained the same way as military people for the simple reason that they:
a) have different goals and
b) are not preparing to go to battle..
They basically just want to get fit and lose weight, tone up and improve their posture. This prepares them
for the fun outdoor activities we have the opportunity to take part in here in Australia.
The goal and desired outcome of a military training program is different than that of a regular civilian who
just wants to get fit and lose weight and tone up.They want to be ready and able to rock climb, swim, run,
dive, abseil, ride a horse etc.
With the very different goals come different approaches which are reflected in the training program.
Boot Camp Pyrmont
Nowadays cutting edge outdoor fitness programs deliver all the benefits an experienced personal
trainer can deliver for a fraction of the cost. There is no need to pay 80-120 for an experienced PT when you can
do a group personal training session with an experienced PT such as Nathan for a lot less than
that.
The important thing to take into consideration when taking part in a group PT session is the
experience of the trainer. My personal belief is that a trainer should have about 6000 hours (30 hours a week for 4
years) of one on one training time in a gym under the supervision of an experienced PT, before attempting to run a
group PT session as the need to spot biomechanical problems, issues with form and monitor clients is now presented
on a mass scale.
Pyrmont Bootcamp Outdoor Fitness Evolution
As the fitness industry coninues to evolve so to does the client. It used to be ok to run a bootcamp
using purely body weight and simple exercise such shuttle runs, push ups, squats , lunges and
dips.
Nowadays with evolution, clientele have come to expect and should in fact be delivered a more
holistic fitness training experience when signing up for a fitness bootcamp.
At Pyrmont Bootcamp, Nathan trains people in the use kettlebells, provides equipment such as
medballs, dumbbells, boxing equipment and coaches them into good boxing form drawing from influences such
kung fu, muay thai and wetern boxing.
How fit do you have to be to do Oz Bootcamp?
OZ Bootcamp in Sydney has been designed to get you into fantastic shape no matter how fit you are now. You
will be challenged by the activities and drills we incorporate into the session, no matter how fit you
are.
What if I have injuries?
If you have any injuries you should see your physio and begin working on a plan to get you back into a
state where you are able to train. Nathan can provide you with the contact details of his personal Physio who
is an experienced practioner.
OZ bootcamps are demanding physically and your body needs to be able to cope with the load we
apply.

OZ Bootcamp group fitness sessions start in Sydney regularly. So you can join in ASAP!
Where is Pyrmont Bootcamp Training held?
Meeting Point 1 is at the end of Harris Street carpark.
Meeting Point 2 is on Prriama road side of the park near the carpark.

Our OZ Boot Camp group outdoor fitness classes are currently held at various locations around Sydney
including Chiswick, Drummoyne, Pyrmont and the CBD.
How long does each session go for?
Our group fitness bootcamp sessions go for 60 minutes. The first 10 minutes are dedicated to warm up and
stretching. We then do a 45 min workout and a 5 min cool down routine.
How much does it cost? - Trial your 1st session for free. After completing one of our Bootcamp
sessions in Pyrmont you will agree that it is a great way to get your body in shape and fit!
